Design Variant Technology
The unique way in which design variants are able to link free and parametric designs opens new vistas for product development and enables the user to perform engineering tasks in less time and resulting in a better product quality. Once carried out, a series of design steps can be re-used and processed in new designs. These can, for instance, be typical use cases in the most diverse industries, such as steel engineering joints and connections, stamping tools or sheet metal mounting straps, shaft bearings or mechanical engineering shaft-to-collar connections. A design automatically adapts to each insertion situation and automatically makes any necessary changes to the design.

Assembly and Transport Simulation
The best quality control is the prevention of errors. The simulation of transport, motion or installation/assembly processes enable you to detect and deal with collisions early in the design phase. These simulations save time and costs during subsequent maintenance or repair work.
Function Simulation (HCM 3-D)
Use function simulation options (HiCAD Constraints Manager) for three-dimensional motion analysis with automatic collision control. Spatial movements can be individually controlled and visualised in real time.

Stand out from competition by presenting your products and achievements in a promotionally effective way! Use our Reality Studio module for a photorealistic representation of 3-D models, for animations and camera runs.
Freeform Surfaces
Modern designs often require unusual and highly complex surfaces. Whether housewares, furniture or car bodies – many of these products are designed using so-called freeform surfaces. These are arbitrarily curved surfaces defying any attempt of analytical description.

Innovative API
HiCAD provides an innovative API (Application Programmers Interface) based on the latest .NET technology. It enables you to control, expand and analyse HiCAD from other Window applications. The API can be operated with any modern programming language, e.g. C#, VB, C++ or Java.
Kinematics
Use this 2-D module for the development and analysis of variable transmission gearings and mechanisms. Complex movement simulations can be instantly simulated and subsequently evaluated on the screen.
