The Whole World of Plant Engineering

Today, the ever increasing complexity of technical plants is making great demands on design engineers. The bigger the plant, the more complex the creation of the corresponding installation diagrams and piping plans. This is particularly true in logistics, chemical engineering and food technology.

The HiCAD Plant Engineering enables the planning, design and development of technical plants. Plant engineering-specific functions facilitate design tasks and reduce modification efforts, no matter whether you are dealing with layout and pipeline planning, pipeline isometries or P&IDs.

The plant design is directly available as a 3-D model and conveys a photorealistic impression of the finished design, thus allowing you to check and evaluate prototypes during early design stages, which in turn enables a minimisation of errors, an increase in quality and a reduction of costs.

 

A high degree of automation is provided to the user to facilitate the performance of daily design tasks such as allocating pipeline allocation to guidelines, pipeline separation or nominal diameter changes of already allocated pipelines. Parts lists and BOMs can virtually be created at the push of a button, pipeline isometries can be derived automatically. For the processing of parts and assemblies, extensive tools as well as the entire 3-D functionality are available to the user.

Full-scale functionality is achieved by the integrated parts database of the PDM system HELiOS, ensuring an efficient management and consistency of all project-related data and documents - even when dealing with highly sophisticated and complex plants.

The P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation) module is a logical enhancement of the Plant Engineering module. It enables the user to create clearly structured flow charts and detailed representations of instrumentations in plant engineering. A link between both modules allows an even more efficient creation of layout and pipeline plans.
