Today the use of CAD systems has become a standard in many industries, most notably in the fields of mechanical engineering and production engineering. Existing legacy data in the form of 2-D drawings can, even if originating from other CAD systems, automatically be converted to 3-D models with the 2-D->3-D Conversion module, allowing time savings of up to 90% compared with conventional 3-D drawing reconstruction methods!

State-of-the-art functions are also available for the processing of 3-D models. The user can choose between free and parametric design. Possible part collisions within the 3-D model can be early detected and eliminated with simulation and analysis tools. For the visualisation of 3-D models, possibilities are also limitless. Illumination and material specification options enable a photorealistic rendering of the 3-D model.
